Complex Glazing of Facades

Facade Glazing Technologies
Energy saving, light transmittance and high reliability of structures are three parameters making aluminum facades particularly popular.

Mullion-transom Glazing
The mullion-transom system is an enclosing facade structure consisting of a metal vertical-horizontal frame and translucent filling.

The frame of the system is formed using vertical profiles – mullions, to which horizontal transoms are attached.

The multiple glazed units are fixed to the supporting frame using press strips, onto which decorative covers are then installed.

The use of such a system allows to create complex shapes with a tilt-and-turn system, floor-to-ceiling glazing with pivot elements, and implement any other unique tasks.

Semi-closed (Semi-structural) Mullion-transom
Semi-structural glazing is one of the variations of mullion-transom structure with elements of a structural system.

As in a standard mullion-transom system, a supporting structure of vertical and horizontal profiles is used here, however, the wide press strips typical of a mullion-transom system are not used.
A structural multiple glazed unit (which makes the semi-structural system similar to the structural one) is fixed to the mullion-transom frame using a spacer frame; the external seams are sealed with silicone.
Visually, this structure is virtually identical to a more expensive structural system.

However, unlike its close relative, a semi-structural system also provides the possibility of fastening large-sized multiple glazed units using a narrow press strip. In this case, not structural, but ordinary multiple glazed units are used, which significantly reduces the cost of the system.

Structural Glazing System
A technology for installing multiple glazed units in order to create a smooth surface
without visible fastening elements.

Multiple glazed units are fixed to the mullion-transom system using glue,
and the joints and seams are filled with sealant, so the profiles are invisible along the facade.

The glass is fastened at a distance of 1–2 cm, which creates the effect of a monolithic structure, while the structure does not look heavy.

Modular (Element) Glazing
An element or modular facade is a facade glazing system consisting of ready-made blocks that are manufactured at a factory and may include opening sashes, window sill elements, air conditioning systems, etc.

Facade blocks are assembled at a factory from aluminum profiles, multiple glazed units and additional elements provided for by the project. Ready-made blocks are delivered to the site in special packaging that prevents damage during transportation. At the site, the blocks are lifted by crane to the desired storey and installed from inside the room on pre-prepared bearing elements.

The height of the modules is equal to the height of the storey and corresponds to the distance between the storeys.

The joining of elements to each other is also carried out from inside the building, as a result of which there is no need to set up scaffolding, and installation work can be carried out in any weather. Modular systems are used mainly in multistorey buildings from 10 to 100 storeys.

Reynaers Facade Systems Capabilities
Structural Glazing
Glazing using structural sealant allows to create a facade without visible external press strips
Bent (Curved) Glazing
Multiple glazed units can be bent along a radius. For this purpose, an aluminum profile is rolled on special machines.
Panoramic (Jumbo) Glazed Units
Multiple glazed units made in Ukraine up to 6x3.2 meters Multiple glazed units made in Europe up to 20x3.2 meters

Structural and Design Options for Reynaers CW 50 Facade System

Technical Characteristics Visible

  • Width (Outside/Inside): 50/50 mm
  • Filling Thickness: 22-64 mm
  • Thermal Conductivity Coefficient Uf: 0.56 W/m2K
  • Sound Insulation: 48 dB Air/Water Tightness: 1,200 / 1,950 Pa
  • Wind Load Resistance: 2,400 Pa / 3,600 P
CW 50 system offers the widest range of solutions for various requirements and purposes: fire-resistant, with improved thermal insulation, with improved load-bearing capacity, for translucent roofs and with various types of opening (concealed, top-hung, parallel sliding, etc.).

The system includes three types of structural glazing, when multiple glazed units are fastened using structural sealant or internal clamping profiles, creating an all-glass external surface of the facade.

The system is designed for the installation of double-chamber glazed units, which makes it possible to use it for passive buildings.

Options for the External Appearance of the Profile System
We will offer the optimal solution for your facility; we complete the structure with the necessary options in accordance with the technical specifications and the wishes of the customer.

Helpful Information
The shape of the glazing elements can have a more original geometry, for example, in the form of honeycombs or polygons.
It is possible to manufacture three-dimensional structures, vertical and angled systems
Standard sliding and window-door elements are easily integrated into the facades.
They can also be equipped with specially designed built-in elements
The structures have any required level of thermal insulation, up to the passive house standard
The structures are automated, connected to alarm systems, centralized monitoring and control systems.
In facade glazing, the use of heated glass on the roof is popular.
This will solve the problem of ice freezing, as well as the occurrence of streaks from precipitations.
The structures are complemented by hinged sun protection, safety sensors, and may have protection against falling out.

Color Range of the Profile System
We can offer interior and exterior profiles in almost any color you can imagine.

There are over 450 different shades and finishes available: metallic or anodizing, matte or gloss RAL colors and even a special maintenance-free and scratch-resistant Coatex finish.

In addition, your windows can take on the appearance of a real wooden structure.

Important characteristics when choosing a multiple glazed unit
By combining types of coating, glass thicknesses and
distances between them, you can get rid of many problems
and increase the level of comfort.
The area of a multiple glazed unit makes up about 90% of the aluminum structure and largely affects its insulating properties.
Key parameters affecting the operational characteristics of a multiple glazed unit:
- glass thickness
- number of glasses
- coating and thickness of glass panels
- chamber filling
